Cookie Policy
Last updated: November 2025
We keep tracking on this Site to a minimum. No advertising cookies, no retargeting pixels, no social-network trackers. This page explains exactly what we do use and why.
1. What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small text files saved on your device when you visit a website. Local storage is a similar mechanism built into your browser that lets a site remember information across visits without sending it back to a server. ExploringPrague uses both, sparingly.
2. Cookies we use
· Strictly necessary — keep the Site working: session, authentication for the admin area, security tokens for forms.
· Functional — remember your preferences (language, accepted cookie banner, scroll position on long articles).
· Analytics (privacy-friendly, aggregated) — count page views, referring sites and rough device categories. No individual profile is built. We use a setup that does not require a cookie banner under EU rules when configured to anonymise IPs.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, Facebook Pixel, Google Ads tags, TikTok, or similar trackers.
3. Local storage we use
· "Explore As a Kid" game progress — hero names, current level, language preference. Stored only in your browser. We never see it.
· Form drafts — temporary drafts of contact, news tip and writer-application forms so you don't lose what you wrote if the page reloads.
· UI preferences — language and the state of menus you've opened or closed.
4. Third parties
Embedded content (e.g. a YouTube video, a Google Maps embed, a partner logo) can set its own cookies when you interact with it. We try to use privacy-friendly embed modes where possible. When you follow an external link, that other site's cookie policy applies.
5. Managing or clearing cookies
You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings (typically: Privacy & Security → Clear browsing data → Cookies and site data). Doing so will reset your game progress and any saved form drafts on this Site.
Most browsers also allow you to block cookies entirely or per-site. The Site will keep working without analytics or functional cookies — only the small conveniences (saved progress, remembered preferences) will be lost.
6. Changes
As we add features, this policy will be updated. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version.
