Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how ExploringPrague (the "Site", available at exploringprague.com and kucukkasifler.lovable.app) collects, uses, stores and protects your personal data. We've written it in plain language so you can actually read it.
1. Who is the data controller
ExploringPrague is an independent editorial, education and consulting brand operating from Prague, Czech Republic. The brand owner acts as the data controller for any personal data you submit through the Site. To exercise any right described below, contact us through the contact page with the subject line "Privacy".
2. What data we collect, and why
We only collect data you actively give us, plus minimal technical logs:
· Newsletter subscription — your email address, so we can send occasional Prague letters.
· Contact form — your name, email, optional phone, subject and message, so we can reply.
· Service inquiries (Education / Consulting) — your name, email and the topic, so we can quote and schedule.
· Writer applications — full name, email, optional phone, LinkedIn / social links and your motivation, so we can evaluate you as a contributor to The Prague Journal.
· News tips — your name, email, optional phone and the news you'd like us to consider.
· PixelMums community — name, email, optional phone, topic and message, so we can include you in the community.
· Game progress — locally on your device only (browser storage). Hero names and progress for "Explore As a Kid" never leave your browser.
· Technical logs — standard server logs (IP address, browser, page, timestamp) for security, abuse prevention and aggregated analytics.
3. Lawful basis (GDPR Art. 6)
We process your data based on:
· your consent, given when you submit a form or subscribe;
· the performance of a contract, when you book a paid service;
· our legitimate interest in operating, securing and improving the Site, in a way that does not override your rights.
4. How long we keep your data
· Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
· Contact messages and news tips: up to 24 months after the last exchange.
· Service inquiries: up to 12 months unless they lead to a paid engagement (then kept as required by Czech accounting law, typically 5–10 years).
· Writer applications: up to 12 months after the decision.
· Server logs: up to 90 days.
5. Who we share data with
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We share only with processors that help us run the Site, under written data-processing terms:
· our hosting and database provider (storing the form submissions);
· email delivery, when we reply to you or send the newsletter;
· privacy-friendly analytics (aggregated, no advertising profiles).
Some of these providers may process data outside the EU. When that happens we rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
6. Your rights (GDPR)
You have the right to: access your data, correct it, delete it ("right to be forgotten"), restrict or object to processing, receive a copy in a portable format, and withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already done.
To exercise any of these rights, write to us via the contact page. We respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Czech Data Protection Authority — Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů (uoou.gov.cz).
7. Children
The "Explore As a Kid" game is designed for families to play together, but we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. Game progress is saved only in the child's local browser storage.
8. Cookies
We use only minimal, functional cookies and local storage. Details are in the Cookie Policy.
9. Security
Form submissions are stored in an encrypted database with row-level access control. Only the brand owner (and explicitly authorized editors) can read them.
10. Changes
We may update this policy as the Site evolves. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site for at least 30 days.
